The Kemptown space has its personal small annual street competition, the Kemptown Carnival, and the Hanover space similarly has a “Hanover Day”. Since the demolition in 1978 of the Black Rock open-air lido at the eastern end of Brighton’s seafront, the area has been developed and now features one of Europe’s largest marinas.
